A Right Royal 'Do'

Also attached is my submission for February's inspiration poster 'Valentine's Day'. I'm afraid it's another literal lift from me!! I wanted to use a romantic theme & struggled to think of one where I had enough photo's...& then I remembered the garden party a friend held last year to commemorate both her own silver wedding anniversary & the Royal Wedding! Held on the afternoon of April 29th in her own garden, the sun shone & a good time was had by all!!! I have used all three criteria...Two Hearts...A black background...& actually used twelve small pictures!!

Thanks Shazza for the inspiration to get another memory scrapped!!

Visit

This LO uses photos from our recent visit to see my sister and her new baby- my three were desperate to have a hold and were crowding round a screaming baby trying to get a cuddle!

I had run out of black card so I had to use the back of a page I started a long time ago but never finished! so that's one of the criteria- I printed out 10 tiny pictures as a contact sheet and cut them up to make a pattern with them and then hand cut a couple of hearts in the right colour

Curiouser and Curiouser

I thought we might be inundated with love and romance this month on FS2S so I’ve taken a different tack on this challenge. I’ve used the squared block design and the bottom writing position from the poster and obviously the black background. I did manage to squeeze in the heart criteria – pretty pleased how it all came together.

Game On

I've completed my submission for February today.

I had a lot of photos from my son's sport birthday party in April 2011. It was soccer and dodge ball that they played at an indoor arena. All the boys had a great time and I took lots of action shots. This was a great way to use them up. I have 10 small photos and one bit bigger one. I've used a soccer ball background with a large piece of black cardstock as well. The hearts are in between the sticker with the word sport repeated on it. Mark likes the page, so that's a win.

Love, Love Love Christmas

Ah it's the love month, lovely! And so I have used

unscrapped Christmas photos with my page titled 'Love,

Love, Love Christmas'.  I have used black cardstock,

a mauve stitched heart, purple stamped hearts, 16 tiny

photos that I have adhered in a Christmas tree shape

with pressies underneath as well as pink alphas &

embellies.
I think we will have lots of gals join us this month, with

such a fab challenge.

Hi, my name is Nicky Normandale.

I live in Adelaide, South Australia with my darling boyfriend Shannon. No children or pets for us as we aren't very good at keeping fish alive so decided it would just be the two of us. I am a proud Aunt of 6 nephews and a very gorgeous niece who is my favourite person to scrap about.

I am not a Design Team member for anyone yet but am hoping that 2012 will be my lucky year and that i'll be welcomed into a DT soon (hint hint Shazza!). I am very honoured to be the Guest Design Team member for From Screen 2 Scrap for the month of January! I was pretty overwhelmed when I got the email as it meant I was one step closer to my dream of being a DT member for one of the many inspirational blogs that I follow.

I first started scrapping almost 2 years ago now... My sister had a kit that she'd put together and I borrowed it for a few weeks to see what this scrapbooking thing was all about. When I went to return it I told her how hooked I was and that I planned to buy the basics and go to some classes so I too could learn about all the magic that people can create. I was so excited when she said 'Keep it all then, I don't use it so you may as well'. Since then I have been to many classes and learnt so many techniques. And i've gone from a shopping bag full of bits and pieces to a whole room for me to scrap in! I love every moment that I get to spend playing in my room and wish I didn't have to work so I could be in there all day.....

I scrap because I love capturing the story behind each photo and so that I can tell our story as a family as to what we got up to in our lives. I want our future family to flick through my albums in 100+ years and see what we got up to and perhaps laugh at our daggy hairstyles, clothing and vintage cars, furniture, etc. I tell the story about anything whether it be a special occassion or just every day life, mostly cherished moments. I love to sit down and look through my albums to remember those beautiful moments and to see how much i've evolved as a scrapper.

I don't really have a style of my own. I like to try anything and adapt with each project. I follow artists like Teresa Collins, Donna Salazar and Tim Hotlz with passion (perhaps it could be borderline stalking!) and am truly inspired by the products and projects that Kaisercraft create - they are also the reason why I started scrapping, a few clicks on their blog and I was hooked! I love all types of scrapping whether it be making layouts, cards, OTP items and I like to get my Zutter out and make my own books now and then too!

I am so happy to be the Guest Designer for From Screen 2 Scrap during January, thanks so much Shazza for giving me the opportunity!

Our new home was nearing the finishing stages in 2003...But Christmas was looming!! I thought it would be a miracle if we could move in before Christmas. We finally got the keys on the 17th December and moved in that very day... It really was a miracle!

Brown, yellow and orange hues - check. I used kraft cardstock as my "brown", and some orange glimmer mist and ink and then some yellow thickers to top it all off.
Santa hat - check. My handmade bottlecap in the top left features a Santa Claus with hat.

Karen Williams - Miracle on the E40

Hi Shazza

here is my entry for the January challenge- Miracle on 34th street.

I have the colour scheme and I hand cut a tiny little Santa flying in the corner. I ahve to admit I changed the title a tiny bit- I've called it miracle on the E40- that is not my street or my house number but last Christmas was almost a disaster- we had a massive snow fall a few days before we were due to drive back to the UK. it was so bad that huge lorries were skidding along my street _- a major trunk road- and if the stopped they just couldn't get going again. it was touch and go whether we were going to leave or not. In the end we decided to go for it and make an overnight stop in Calais on the way. we had to dig the car out and push it to get it out of the snow but once we were out of our town we were on the way and absolutely fine! So this is called Miracle on the E40 because for me it was a miracle we got to Calais- this photo was taken in our overnight hotel- a bit spartan but it was a real relief to get there! the E40 is the european motorway going past Calais in case you were wondering

Here we are in the New Year....time is just whizzing away!
 
This was a great movie poster to use as inspiration,

I do love that vintage look.
 
I believe I have used all the criteria in my LO of my

new home - browns, yellows & orange tones, a little

red Santa, & my title is Miracle at 56. It is a

miracle that we managed to be able to buy such a lovely

home, so this inspiration suited me down to the ground.

Plus I had to add that pop of red in to...

my signature colour!

Sandi Robinson -Miracle @ # 14

Attached is my January sub for the 'Miracle On 34th Street'...this one stumped me for a bit!! How to incorporate our house number into the title? Santa on a brown/yellow/orange colour scheme? But I had a light bulb moment & remembered a photo I had made up on the 'Capture The Magic' website, placing Santa on our landing, convincingly about to fill our stockings with gifts! Even more handy was that the walls on the landing are an ochre colour & in the lamplight the whole seen had a yellow hue! So, all three criteria met (I hope that Santa in the photo counts as being on the page?!) & I even managed to incorporate a generous excerpt from my favourite Christmas poem ''twas the night before Christmas'.

Jane Howden - Santa Swings Past #37

Hi Shazza,

Gosh 2012 already – how did that happen?

Our local rural fire service go around the streets of our suburb every Christmas eve spreading Christmas cheer (and handfuls of lollies) to the local children. It’s become a bit of a tradition to stand out the front of our house and wave and clap as he goes past (and then do a mad scramble for the scattered sweets left on the front lawn). I’ve used some yellow Christmas paper that has been in my stash for who knows how long and teamed it with some Abbey Road scraps I had in my basket which had a nice tangerine colour to them. I brought in brown as the background cardstock and in the numbers. My included Santa is fairly obvious :).

Looking forward to another great year on From Screen 2 Scrap.

Hi Shazza,

I've chosen to make a card for the Miracle on 34th Street poster challenge. I've used yellow cardstock as my base, like the background of the poster. I have a fun image of Santa running off to have a surf with his board. I've used an orange strip along the bottom, like the poster. My street number happens to be 20. I noticed that there is also a 20 on the bottom centre of the poster. A lucky coincidence. So I have made a playful title to match the image which includes the number 20. I'll be interested to see what interpretations we have this month.

Jennifer Manis - Miracle on Main Street

Hi Shazza!

The year just flew by, didn't it? I'm really excited for whatever 2012 brings though! I'm sending you my layout for January's challenge. My layout is titled, 'Christmas on Main Street.' I really wanted a Christmas themed layout, but the colors of the poster were really challenging! I decided to use an old photo of my mom & her brother with Santa. I don't know what street exactly they lived at that time, so I used this cute Main Street sticker I had. This picture probably was taken on Main Street, with the town's only Santa, as I'm sure there weren't quite as many of Santa's helpers around town as there are these days! :)

Hi Ladies!!

You are going to have to put up with me as the Movie Extra this month as we had a cancellation.

I have been scrapping for about 3-4 years and love everything about the scrapping industry, the on-line stores, challenge blogs, workshops, retreats etc.... I don't have a style to my scrapping as I try a bit of everything and love learning new techniques. I love owning ARTastic Challenge blog you can view here and FS2S, as they have kept me intouch with our scrappy world. I get alot of my inspiration from my Design Team Members, blogs and workshops.

I have just recently taken over ownership of 'Soul Scrappers' which is a Scrapping Ning community that offers challenges, competitions, ATC and Card swaps, Techniques through tutorials and videos. I'm excited about this new venture for 2012 and beyond. If you would like to come and have a look you can get to 'Soul Scrappers' from here. Any new members that join before the end of December will go into a random draw for a Scrapbooking kit, .......just mention 'Shazza' sent you :)

Christmas Treats

Dear Shazza,

How wonderful to be scrapping Christmas photos again. I just love this time of year! I had some wonderful photos of my daughter demolishing a Gingerbread House from last Christmas that were begging to be scrapped. Along with the white cardstock I went with some non-traditional colours of pink and teal, and I made my own little Santa hat to go on Bethany's head.
What a wonderful challenge once again, a perfect way for me to finish up my DT term here at From Screen 2 Scrap. I've sincerely enjoyed my time with you and I wish you all the very best for the New Year and beyond.

Here is my Christmas page for our December inspiration. Can you believe we are in the silly season already – where has this year gone? I thought I would make my layout bright and cheerful befitting the holidays season – I’ve used white cardstock and have red and white letters for my title – Santa is of course wearing his personal Santa hat!!

Happy Christmas Nanny!

Hi Shazza

Attached is my submission for Decembers 'White Christmas' challenge...I had a great time putting this one together & it was good to use a 'less than perfect' photo that otherwise wouldn't have made it onto a LO!! It's one of my elder son talking to his Nanny on Christmas day. It was the first year she wasn't with us on Christmas morning as the snow had made the roads too bad for her to travel to us. We did Christmas all over again at the end of January to make up for it!!!

As for criteria...1. White CS...check! (no problem there as it's one of my favourite starting points!!) 2. A two Colour title...check...red glitter & black puffy alpha's. 3. Christmas hat(s)...well there is only one but as the photo cut it off I added a felt extension & bobble to meet the criteria!!! Hope that counts!!

Oh Xmas Tree

Hi Shazza,

Here is my layout for December. It was a very inspiring poster. I immediately took inspiration from the Christmas tree. I have made a half a Christmas tree using a square punch. I've added a star at the top (also half) like the poster and added little stars along the side of the tree, again like the poster. The poster had a green base under the tree and I have included one in my layout also.

The base is white cardstock as per the criteria and I have a green and red title. I like that it all turned out crisp and clean. I think having a white background helped that a lot.

I've included two tiny Christmas hats in my journalling and in fact made the journalling all about the hats.

Aren't these stunning street decorations for Christmas?

I tried to give a Christmassy feel with the red and green colour scheme and I punched some circles and added a touch of gold card and string to imitate baubles.

The photo is if me last Christmas- I took it myself ( hence the wonky angle and the slight blurring) Just as the Christmas dinner was being laid on the table and we were all being called to eat Nancy fell asleep in my arms- just the wrong moment.

You might guess from that that I wasn't in charge of cooking the Christmas dinner :)

Our Own Fab White Christmas

Ah dear Shazza, the Christmas spirit is all around! And

holidays soon...great!
 
I loved this movie poster, who wouldn't really! The

magical White Christmas...I have chosen some photos

during our trip to the UK at Christmas in 2005,

& here is Pete & Jade eating their Christmas

dinner, that we all prepared.  The infamous vegies

relate to the fact that we were at Borough Markets

the day before, buying lovely yummy vegies &

I was pickpocketed!!
After the initial panic, we now laugh about those

theiving vegies!
 
I have used all the criteria of white CS (isn't it

great to scrap on pure white!), my 2 toned title is

'Our own fab White Christmas', & I have used
photos of Pete & Jade wearing Christmas hats,

& then Jadie with her Santa hat...that travels

with her.
 
I wish all our DT's & players a warm & happy

Christmas.
 
And you Shazza, our dear organiser..all the very

this one posed a few problems for me- mainly the photo- I had some great photos from Stanley's recent birthday of him and his cousins but my printer is not playing ball- so then I looked through my old family photos and found not much at all- i don't seem to have any photos with all the family together that I cloud combine with a title that included the word home- i had photos of us out, photos of us at parties and photos from funerals ( is it just my family that takes photos at funerals?)

So this photo was my last resort- my Mum, Nan, Stanley and me posing together in the pre digital age- so no chance to realise Mum's eyes were closed and Stanley was looking the wrong way. But I'm very grateful for the photo- I don't have Mum and Nan any more- they never got to meet my other two children - so I'm just pleased to have it at all- Nan was wearing a wig in the photo because she was struggling with cancer when the picture was taken.

Waters in 1985..so long ago!!I had fun with bright

happy papers & it is titled Homeward Bound, as

we were all about to pile in our cars & head

get off the hurdy-gurdy & stop playing together

I have used an older photo of my husband and children on our front verandah as my family gathering photo and highlighted the fact that this is about “home” by using a house shape as a base for the picture. I’ve added the white pen as part of the title rather than as journaling and added HOME as the main title. Can’t wait to see how everyone tackles this month’s inspiration.

My Submission for this month.. funny story about that, i had finished my project and had it all done, then realised that i had forgotten to spilt my tittle.. so i created another Tag as well.. so you get two for the price of one.... giggle.. I have used a variety of Tim Holtz goodies in both projects.. and have included my spooky house, a silhouetted figure.. here is my submission for the OCtober challenge

I started with the photo as my spooky house and silhouette of a figure but guessed I should have them on the LO- so I cut out a figure and stamped a house ( although it isn't very spooky) the book is displayed like this on my yellow shelf ( I have colour coded my bookshelves) because I love the cover- I thought it looked like a good image for a halloween page and I have just started re-reading the Sherlock Holmes books.

Attached is my sub for the October movie poster 'Psycho'...This is the first poster I've struggled with!! I had to really work to get my head around even choosing photo's that fit with the criteria of a spooky house!!! So I opted for some night-time pics of my boys playing with sparklers & went from there!! So...Spooky House..check! Silhouetted figure...check (x2!) & a one word title cut in half...check! Thanks for taking me out of my comfort zone, even if it was like pulling teeth...I got there in the end!!!!

Jane Howden - Grotto

Good morning Shazza,

Here is my submission for October. I’ve used a photo of Jenolan Caves House (established 1887 - rather grand, imposing and certainly spooky, especially at night and in the foggy depths of winter). My silhouette is of two black birds and my split one word title “Grotto” has been divided randomly lengthways rather than the traditional midways split as shown on the Psycho poster. I was totally stumped on a title for this layout until I stumbled across Grotto - a geological formation consisting of an underground enclosure with access from the surface. The impressive entrance and rugged surroundings of Jenolan certainly fits this bill – I’m sure those of you who may have braved the steep drive in will be in agreement.

Hi Shazza,

I found the movie Psycho pretty scary and this is a great poster for it. I've used similar colours to the poster. The topic is the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride in Hollywood Studios in Florida, USA. A very foreboding looking structure and an incredible ride to experience. I also have a brad that has a spooky house on it. I have used 3 black silhouetted figures - a cat, a spider and a ghost. The title, Terror, is one word and split in half.

Hello Shazza,

Well I had a total blast doing this one - what fun! :D Here is my layout "Scared" inspired by the Hitchcock classic and one of my all-time favourite scary movies, "Psycho". I have been inspired by the large photo, bold red lettering, the theme and I just had to have my photo in black and white... for the full Hitchcockian effect!!!
I've also included all the criteria too; 1. Spooky House - it's in the photo and the subject of the layout; 2. A silhouette figure (bottom left) - a really great idea too for spooky pages!!!; 3. One word title split in half - another great idea!!!

Hi Shazza,

Here’s my take on the September challenge.

I took my inspiration from the triangular shape of the bird and used this in the placement of my photo’s.

I had some trouble with the cardstock criteria. I realized how little coloured cardstock I actually use. I did

Manage to find a few pieces though and stamped on them and then made the grungy flowers!

And I’ve have this felt bird in my stash for ages, knew it would come in handy one day, it looked a little crazy so it matched the theme

Of the layout with my son pulling funny faces! And lastly my journaling imitated the style in the movie poster.

Hi, i’m Leonie and I live in Geelong, Victoria. Along with my Husband of 11 years, Greg and our 4 children, Will (10), Andrew (8), Hamish (8), and Maggie (6).

I started Scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my twins in 2003. And truly I love everything about this craft; preserving our family’s memories, the creative outlet for me, meeting fabulous like minded people and in the past year or so I’ve discovered the online world of scrapping, blog challenges, forums etc. I’ve become so passionate about my craft that everyday will find me scrapping, even if it’s just 15 minutes tucked away in my study!

I enjoy learning and trying lots of different techniques and I think that is part of the attraction of blog challenges. They always offer something a little different, something to help push you in new directions. Having said that at the moment I like to use mists and masks on my Layouts and l think I also add some doodling or inking/distressing to most of my layouts.

Dear Shazza,

I'm so happy with how this layout turned out after I was inspired by the movie poster to document my youngest's love for adventure. I was at first stumped with how to add blue, red and yellow cardstock as I'm not really a cardstock kind of scrapper, but luckily I found some in the right colours and it came together quite easily in the end. I've added a big wing to represent my bird and my one-word title is "Blessed", together with the subtitle it reads "Blessed are the curious, for they shall find adventure"!! What a fun movie poster we've got this month. Can't wait to see how everyone interprets it.

Please find attached my take on September's inspiration movie poster, "Rio". I really enjoyed this challenge, especially with it's bright and bold colours. I saw this one at the movies and it really was a visual feast! :D

I've included all the criteria here - 1. One word title "Cheeky", 2. Use Blue, Yellow and Red cardstock - I've a blue base there (albeit covered with flowers - but you can just see it peeking through!!), 3. Add a bird - I've got a gorgeous little bird from the Chip Chop Shop there ;).

I've also been inspired by the angles of the kite (see the music paper on my layout) and the addition of white on the layout (ditto).

Fabbo challenge - one of my faves!!! :D

Hi Shazza,

Here is my layout "Hat" for the Rio challenge. I've used red, blue and yellow cardstock which I have cut with my zigzag scissors to repeat the pattern on the eggs in my photos. I've also included a red turkey feather for the same reason. I also have a handmade felt embellishment that I made. Mark and I had a lot of fun making our Easter craft projects this year.

Hi Shazza,

I had to call this layout “Bright” (my one word title) it really couldn’t be anything else. Gorgeous rainbow lorikeets on South Molle Island, Queensland. My daughter was in hysterics over them, she really thought they were a scream. I’ve used red, yellow and blue cardstock and of course there are birds a plenty. Loved putting this one together – hope everyone else finds some birdy inspiration this month.

Attached, my submission for 'Rio'...What an absolute pleasure to work with this poster as inspiration! When I saw the criteria 'Add A Bird' I immediately thought of this photo of my youngest, then aged two, at a Christmas Fancy Dress Party held by his playgroup. He went as a Pirate & I had such fun dressing him up...he even let me draw a curly moustache on with an eyeliner pen!! While his eye patch & cutlass were soon abandoned (they got in the way of playing!!) the parrot was still pinned on his shoulder & the moustache still on his face, right up to bath time that evening!! The icing on the cake was when he was awarded First Prize for his costume & he clung on to that envelope all day!! So...all criteria met & another long overdue photo scrapped!! Thanks Shazza for yet another thoroughly enjoyable challenge!! :)

What a great fun movie poster Rio is to inspire me!! I hope

it also inspiress many gals to join in with us too.

 

I loved the bright cheery colours, to add to these photos

of a dear friends little daughter.  I used the red,

yellow & blue CS plus added a little bit of pink there

too, inked & then Glossy Accented the birdie (although

that is hard to see in the photo)& title my page 'She'.

 

What a great time I had working on my page!

Here is my entry for Sept.

I think it turn out really cute, I kind a went with colors in the poster, that really got me going. It was a fun poster.

When Is Hannah and her friend Jessica tanning on the beach.

I have covered the red, blue and yellow card stock, one title word Beachy, and my feathered friend the bird.

I hope you like as much as I enjoyed putting to together.

Alanna Nelson - Bounce

I had so much fun with this LO! The cardstock criteria made me realise I haven't used cardstock as my background in a while (more of a patterned paper kind of girl!) and I pulled out one of my new Crafter's Workshop templates and had a play around with embossing on the Core Core'dinations cardstock... it was a bit time consuming (I'm only learning) but I love the effect!! Minimilistic seems to be my style at the moment so I kept this one nice and simple. I also embossed the red cardstock circle and yellow title. The paper doiley was a last minute addition to the page but I'm so glad I did. I knew it needed that extra little something, and my doiley solution came in a dream ;)
