Here's my layout inspired by the Home Alone poster. When I saw it I knew I had the perfect photo- me as I walked in the door to my Surprise 40th Birthday party. I have used blue cardstock background, 1 patterned paper (Websters Pages) and a 2 word title (well one is a number but I hope that doesn't disqualify me.) Thanks for the inspiration.

A little bit of info about the Director of Home Alone.

Christopher 'Chris' Columbus (born September 10, 1958 in Spangler, Pennsylvania ) is an American film director, producer and screenwriter.


Columbus graduated from Tisch School of the Arts. He created and wrote the first episodes of the animated series Galaxy High (1986–87).

Columbus made his directorial debut with the teen comedy Adventures in Babysitting (1987). He had huge success with the popular Home Alone film (1990) and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York starring Macaulay Culkin.

In 1995, Columbus started his own production company named 1492 Pictures. This refers to Columbus's more famous namesake, christopher Columbus.

His later directorial work includes Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Stepmom (1998), Bicentennial Man (1999), the first two Harry Potter films and Rent (2005), an adaptation of the popular Broadway Musical.

Commercially, he has been hugely successful, despite the occasional flop, but like his one-time mentor, Stephen Spielberg, he has met with critical accusations of excessive sentimentality and catering to children, as well as being described as a "bean counter" by British film critic Mark Kermode in criticism to his "bland and straight-forward direction."

As of August 2006, Columbus optioned the film rights to Christopher Moore's best-selling novel A Dirty Job.

Our Movie Extra for September is.......

My name is Lisa Kamphuis I am a Mum of four gorgeous kids - three boys Josh 11, Lachlan 10 , Daniel almost 8 and the Princess Teleah who runs the whole house at the age of 4 !!!!! I also have a fabulous husband Shane who is the best thing in my life . We moved to the Gold Coast 2 and half years ago for him to return to uni to study medicine - He is now half way through third year and he is rocking it!
I started scrapping probably 9 years ago with a Creative memories party - so started with stickers and shapes - Man how I just love those albums - hidden down deep in a dark faraway cupboard
I then lost time with 3 small boys and didnt start again until I accidentally won some scrapstuff on Ebay - that catapulted me back into scrapbooking and I havent looked back - I scrap for me, have several albums for each of my four kids
Yes I am addicted - I have fabulous scrap area setup - usually messy but all mine!!! So I get to scrap most days - _ I also make and sell kits from my blog http://ourlittlesliceofparadise.blogspot.com/. I start selling them toward the end of one month ready for the new month and if you email me back your creations - you go into the draw for a RAK at the end of that month.
I love the shopping, the friends, the possibilities of leaving all these memories so vividly for my children and theirs and theirs and theirs....imagine if we had those of our past !!!! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE challenge blogs like Screen to scrap - they make me think outside the square and try things and combinations I might not do otherwise.

I took my inspiration from the window in the poster and decided to add a pic of my DS Adam looking out of the window with a perplexed look on his face. I covered all the criteria blue cs, one tiny piece of pp and two word title. I cut the tree from brown cs and added 'Bella' felt flowers, I hope you all like my take cheers Shazza

This is Ali's take on the Home Alone poster....

Ali Coles - All Alone

and below the journalling Tag revealed.....

I took my inspiration from the Home Alone poster by Changing the title to All Alone and using a dark background like they did on the poster. The poster also has bright colours in the title and Macaulay Culkin's jumper, as my photo was quite dark and moody I used my patterned paper to add the colour and used the ribbon to try and create a window effect as in the poster. As usual I had to add a bit of bling with the glitter stickers for the title and a few gems. I put my journaling on tag hidden behind the photo.

PP - Die cuts with a view. Glitter alphabet stickers - Me and my big ideas, Urban Bling. Ribbon, flowers and gems from stash.

Journaling reads -
I love this picture of gemma taken at West Kirby Beach. Feb. 05. Whilst it looks in the photo as though she is alone, stranded in the middle of nowhere. She is actually about two minutes from the Prom with a busy Fish and Chip Shop and lots of families with their buckets and spades! We came to the beach that day to fly Zoe's kite and Gemma didn't want to come, she had the right hump when we got there but soon started to enjoy walikng along the beach and even had a go at flying the kite!
Gemma doesn't like this photo because she thinks she looks awful with no make up. I love it because I love the way her natural beauty shines through! So sorry Gem this is definitely one for the album!
