I've completed a card today for the Marie A. ch#4. I've added a cluster of home made and paper flowers, some butterflies and a bow and used the colours blue and pink from the poster. Also, I had the most perfect sticker for the sentiment. You may recognise a few items I've added from the Kit I won from you.

Hi Shazza,

Cosmo cricket's beautiful papers inspired this whole layout.I had my first try at the cutting slits and folding back technique which became more complicated as I added the scrapmatts ornate frame over the top. I backed it with a co-ordinating red paper. The layout called for a close up(Erica eating an Italian gelato-our first of many) and a cluster of flowers.I just happened to have a variety of red turquoise and white flowers plus the scrapmatts clock face.

Would you believe this is my first real flower cluster?..I think I achieved the look.The lettering is Pink Paislee.

For 'Marie Antoinette' I knew just the photo I wanted to use...I took this close-up of Nathan last summer & although it begged to be scrapped I just hadn't got around to using it!! I never worry about using flowers on a 'boy' LO... & that Cosmo Cricket word spinner has been in my stash for an absolute age!!! So add in a title that says all those words apply to Nathan = all criteria checked & two long overdue for scrapping items used!! Result!! Thanks girls, for giving me the incentive to get them onto a page!! Great challenge! :)

July's inspiration will come from the Movie Poster 'All about Eve'

(As suggested by DT member Karen Williams)

For an extra 6 bonus points :)

1) Use 4 x colorful Arrows = 1 pt
2) Use  Hearts = 2 pts
3) Use 1/2 or 1/4 of a face from a photo = 3 pts

NOTE - From June we are now looking for individual entries for FS2S, you may combine your entry with a sketch but we no longer want entries that combine other challenges as we feel the ladies that do the right thing and take the time to enter independent entries are disadvantaged when it comes to winning prizes. If it means we lose a few entries, so be it!

Our Movie Extra for July is.....

Lets get to know more about Julie......

Hi I'm Julie.  I live in Dudley in the centre of Birmingham 

with my 7 year old daughter.  I work full time so my life 

is generally pretty busy.  I started scrapbooking in 2005 

as an occasional scrapper but then I had time off work for 

an operation and took an on-line course in July last year. 

By the end of the month I had bought a DSLR and my 

scrapping journey had begun.  I tried submitting LOs to 

magazines a couple of times but each time the magazine 

folded before the next edition.  Was I a jinx? 

Then I submitted a LO for the DT call at Scrapbookers 

Anonymous in April and couldn't believe it when I was 

accepted.  I'm still trying to find my scrapping style, 

but I think I tend to lean towards simple graphic style, 

so the All About Eve Poster was perfect for me.
 
I'm so pleased to have been asked to be the guest 

designer here and I hope you'll join in the challenge.

I've attached my submission for the July 'All About Eve' challenge...love this film as I'm a lifelong Marilyn Monroe fan & this is where she got her 'Big Break'!! A great poster to work with & as I often do when I love a poster, I've been a bit literal in my interpretation!! All the criteria is there...4 colour arrows...hearts...half a face!!! Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable challenge!

Music of my Lifetime

Dear Shazza,

You may well be wondering how a poster on All about Eve could inspire a layout on antiquated music memorabilia.  I had a discussion recently with an older friend of mine who was bemoaning the fact that her 3 year old granddaughter quite regularly showed her up in the technology arena. This led to us reminiscing about life when technology was a tad simpler and listening to music was as easy as merely pressing a button - naturally that got me to thinking about how much things have changed in the music delivery department over my lifetime!   I have my four arrows, hearts and a delightful (not!) half face – now how flattering is that lol.  So All about Eve is really all about music .... and me!.

We Love Space

Hi Shazza,
I've attached my submission for July. It features my boys at Kennedy Space Centre in Orlando dressing up as astronauts. I've got a heart, 4 different coloured arrows and the astronaut's head top left photo is only half. I've silhouetted two of the photos. Took me a while to come up with an idea for this one but I'm pleased with the end result.

Hi dear Shazza,
 
Another fabulous inspiration with this movie poster 'All about Eve'

...I  really enjoyed thinking about this one, & working on it too.

I chose to scrap a lovely photo of my dear grand daughter Tash,

& used bright pinks & greens which I just felt I needed 

to use!

I handcut the arrows & hearts & incorporated them into

my LO using ribbons,  & doily, & book paper, plus a 

smidge of stamping.

Bet we see a lovely lot of entries this month!

Dear Shazza,

What a great poster to draw inspiration from. Since it was called "All About Eve" I changed it up a little and made my layout 'all about me'! I also gained my inspiration from all the colour blocking on the poster - an easy idea to adapt to layout form. And of course I also included my four arrows, plenty of hearts, and used this photo of me and my mum where unfortunately my mum's face got half cut off...... which is often the way when you're taking your own photos!

I forgot the arrows were meant to be colourful so mine aren't sorry :( My hearts are handstitched, just like my arrows, down in the bottom right of the LO. The photos are of my little sister, who can easily spend hours in her bedroom taking photos of herself and having a million and one outfit changes!

Love Every Detail

I was inspired by many of the details on the poster this month as well as criteria

I have the arrows ( hooray for free gifts )

I have the half face photo ( in fact I found about four photos of parts of my childrens' faces but i chose this one)

and I have some hearts

I also used the same format for my title as the movie title on the poster- three squares of colour with one of the words of the title on each sqaure)

and I loved the way the description of the movie was written down the side of the poster in a long strip so i used this idea for my journalling
