Lisa Lofthouse - First one

Lisa said 'I have drawn inspiration from the colour and the LO of the poster where one side is a lot busier than the other. I have 2 torn papers, one photo and zig-zag stitiching.... The twigs are made from inked paper and the tendrils are made from electrical wire (all coated in modge podge to keep my photo safe :))'
Thank you for a wonderful challenge.

Thanks Lisa, for being our first ever entrant on 'From Screen to Scrap' you have won yourself a RAK. The Crew will be over the moon when they see this layout :)

Amanda - Assistant Director

Walk with Me

Amanda took inspiration from the colors in the poster, and also used walk with me as the title.

Marisa - Production Manager

Me @ {48}

My layout for the first challenge, I got my inspirations from the colours on the movie poster and the portrait

Lisa - Producer

SHhh...

Lisa used the movie poster like a layout sketch. she tore the yellow paper, used one photo, and added ric-rac as her zig zags.

Tracy - Executive Producer

Family

I went with the colour scheme and the heart theme.
Zigzag frame and of course paper tearing as required.

Corinne - Chief Editor

I used the poster as a sketch mimicking the flames around the heart using
flourishes and making the photo a half heart shape.

Scene One, Take One!

Hi! and welcome all you movie buffs to a brand new challenge site called 'From Screen to Scrap", this is where you take your inspiration from movie posters with a little bit of added criteria on the side!

At the start of each month a movie poster will be uploaded and the DT will give you some added inspiration with each of their submissions.

You will have a month to complete and your take can be emailed to: shazzaalleyes@hotmail.com

At the end of the month a Golden Globe Award will be presented by the DT to recognize outstanding achievement in the monthly scrapbooking challenge, (both domestic and foreign layouts), and to focus wide public attention upon the techniques, overall appearance and criteria met.

ALSO,

An Academy Award, (popularly known as an Oscar), will also be presented monthly by a random draw of all entries, this is to recognize excellence by all of you in the scrapbooking industry including the Crew (DT members), Movie Buffs (challenge entrants), and Movie Extras (guest designers)

Our first inspirational movie poster is "Fire walk with Me" directed by David Lynch

PLUS criteria = single photo, paper tearing and zig zags somewhere on the layout!

David Keith Lynch (born January 20, 1946) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, painter, cartoonist, composer, video, performance artist, and weatherman. Lynch has received three Academy Award nominations for Best Director, for The Elephant Man (1980), Blue Velvet (1986), and Mulholland Drive (2001). He also received a screenplay Academy Award nomination for The Elephant Man. Lynch has won awards at the Cannes Film Festival and Venice Film Festival

Over a lengthy career, Lynch has employed a distinctive and unorthodox approach to narrative filmmaking (dubbed Lynchian), which has become instantly recognizable to many audiences and critics worldwide. Lynch's films are known for surreal, nightmarish and dreamlike images and meticulously crafted sound design. Lynch's work often explores the seedy underside of "Small Town U.S." (particularly Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks), or sprawling California metropolises (Lost highway, Mulholland Drive and his latest release, Inland Empire). Beginning with his experimental film school feature Eraserhead(1977), he has maintained a strong cult following despite inconsistent commercial success. [sourced from Wikipedia]

Here's the Trailer for 'Fire Walk With Me' Those who recognise the show Twin Peaks may be interested to know that FWWM is a prequel to the famous TV series, depicting 'The Last 7 Days of Laura Palmer' - which was actually the title of this film in France and Asia.
