Octobers inspiration will come from the Movie Poster 'Psycho'

Psycho

For an extra 6 bonus points :)

1) Spooky house = 1 pt
2) A Silohouette figure = 2 pts
3) A one word title split in half = 3 pts

NOTE - From June we are now looking for individual entries for FS2S, you may combine your entry with a sketch but we no longer want entries that combine other challenges as we feel the ladies that do the right thing and take the time to enter independent entries are disadvantaged when it comes to winning prizes. If it means we lose a few entries, so be it!

The inlinkz post will go up shortly!

The Design Team have put together some great submissions,
so lots of inspiration to share with you all  :)

Entries for  'Psycho' will close
Saturday 29th October at midnight.

Looking forward to seeing some great entries this month :)

Cheers
Shazza

Karens submission for the Psycho inspiration......

Karen Knight

My Submission for this month.. funny story about that, i had finished my project and had it all done, then realised that i had forgotten to spilt my tittle.. so i created another Tag as well.. so you get two for the price of one.... giggle.. I have used a variety of Tim Holtz goodies in both projects.. and have included my spooky house, a silhouetted figure.. ( i used a bit of poetic licence with the Configurations box, and added a cat and crow..) and have split my tittle in my tag..

Come Meet our Movie Extra for the month of OCtober.....

Karen's bio.......

Hi ... I'm Karen,  I Live in a little place Called Cooloola Cove with my little man and Hubby... am a proud mum to Ashley, and am an addicted scrapper... I always seem to be behind the camera, and have been scrapping for about 10 years. I scrap everything i do in 8x8 as i tend to struggle with all that extra space in a 12x12 layout... I am a little addicted to all things grungy and Tim Holtz... I love getting inky!!  I have a blog that i try to update regularly.. you can find it here...

I've been lucky enough to be a member of a wonderful design team and have had a couple of guest Dt spots as well. and am really loving creating!!.. I hope you will join us this month, and look forward to seeing all your gorgeous creations!!
Here are some of Karen's gorgeous creations........

Alanna's submission for the month.......

Alanna Nelson - Spooky Sophie

Spooky house - on the little brad at the bottom left of the photo.
Silhouette - witch on broomstick, top left.
Title split in half - I had lots of fun cutting my thickers in half!

For any one interested, the papers for the squares came from a Pretty Little Studio collection - Scaredy Cat. Corinne over at Handmade Halo (http://www.scrapbookingonlinestore.com.au/) is the exclusive Australian retailer for PLS and she has awesome coordinating embellishment kits to go with! And free postage!!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for this poster, I had a lot of fun working with it!

Mary Steinmetz's submission....

Mary Steinmetz - Beware

Here is Karen Williams submission........

Karen Williams -Stories

Hi Shazza

here is my submission for the OCtober challenge

I started with the photo as my spooky house and silhouette of a figure but guessed I should have them on the LO- so I cut out a figure and stamped a house  ( although it isn't very spooky) the book is displayed like this on my yellow shelf ( I have colour coded my bookshelves) because I love the cover- I thought it looked like a good image for a halloween page and I have just started re-reading the Sherlock Holmes books.

Hope this is OK

Karen

Debi Clark's submission.....

Deb Clark - Haunted

Wow, the witching month is here &we have a fabulous &
classic challenge with the Psycho movie poster
- thanks Shazza!

I certainly enjoyed creating this page, & hope we get
lots of players for this month at FS2S!

I have all worked in all the criteria, a spooky house,
a silouhette figure & my title is split in 1/2...
I enjoyed working on that too!

Thanks again,

Debi

Here is Sandi's submission for October....

Sandi Robinson - Sparklers

Hi Shazza

I hope this finds you well.
Attached is my sub for the October movie poster 'Psycho'...This is the first poster I've struggled with!!  I had to really work to get my head around even choosing photo's that fit with the criteria of a spooky house!!! So I opted for some night-time pics of my boys playing with sparklers & went from there!!  So...Spooky House..check! Silhouetted figure...check (x2!) & a one word title cut in half...check! Thanks for taking me out of my comfort zone, even if it was like pulling teeth...I got there in the end!!!!

Bye for now
Sandi x

Jane's submission for October...

Jane Howden - Grotto

Good morning Shazza,
Here is my submission for October.  I’ve used a photo of Jenolan Caves House (established 1887 - rather grand, imposing and certainly spooky, especially at night and in the foggy depths of winter). My silhouette is of two black birds and my split one word title “Grotto” has been divided randomly lengthways rather than the traditional midways split as shown on the Psycho poster.  I was totally stumped on a title for this layout until I stumbled across Grotto - a geological formation consisting of an underground enclosure with access from the surface.  The impressive entrance and rugged surroundings of Jenolan certainly fits this bill – I’m sure those of you who may have braved the steep drive in will be in agreement.
Thanks,
Jane

A submission from Dale Tiernan :)

Dale Tiernan - Terror

Hi Shazza,

I found the movie Psycho pretty scary and this is a great poster for it. I've used similar colours to the poster. The topic is the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride in Hollywood Studios in Florida, USA. A very foreboding looking structure and an incredible ride to experience. I also have a brad that has a spooky house on it. I have used 3 black silhouetted figures - a cat, a spider and a ghost. The title, Terror, is one word and split in half.

Regards,
Dale

Here is Chantal's submission for Octobert....

Chantal Vandenberg - Scared

Hello Shazza,

Well I had a total blast doing this one - what fun! :D  Here is my layout "Scared" inspired by the Hitchcock classic and one of my all-time favourite scary movies, "Psycho".  I have been inspired by the large photo, bold red lettering, the theme and I just had to have my photo in black and white... for the full Hitchcockian effect!!!
I've also included all the criteria too; 1. Spooky House - it's in the photo and the subject of the layout; 2. A silhouette figure (bottom left) - a really great idea too for spooky pages!!!; 3. One word title split in half - another great idea!!!
Fantastic challenge - LOVED it!

Cheers,
Chantal Vandenberg

Jenn's submission.....

Jennifer Manis - Scary Card

Hi Shazza!  Just wanted to send in my project for October's challenge.  I did something a little different this time- I made a card, "Scary"!  I thought this month's poster would be a perfect for a card!  I have included all the criteria too.

Thanks!
Jen  :)
