Junes inspiration will come from the movie poster 'Up'

UP

(As suggested by DT member Natalie Elphinstone)

For an extra 6 bonus points :)

1) Use clouds = 1 pt
2) Use Balloons or a Hot Air Balloon= 2 pts
3) Use or make a 3D embellishment (raised from the page) = 3 pts

NOTE - From June we are now looking for individual entries for FS2S, you may combine your entry with a sketch but we no longer want entries that combine other challenges as we feel the ladies that do the right thing and take the time to enter independent entries are disadvantaged when it comes to winning prizes. If it means we lose a few entries, so be it!

The inlinkz post will go up shortly!

The Design Team have put together some great submissions,
so lots of inspiration to share with you all  :)

Entries for  'UP' will close
Tuesday 28th June at midnight.

Looking forward to seeing some great entries this month :)

Cheers

Joy Andersons submission........

Growing UP

FS2S Guest DT member for June is.....

Joy Anderson

Here's some info about Joy....

Hi, Everyone, I’m Joy.  I live in Georgia, USA.  I’m married and have one son (just became a teenager-help me!), two dogs and a cat.  I’ve been scrapbooking for  6 years and recently discovered I can use my stash to make cards and other paper crafts…WooHoo!  My family knows if I have inky fingers and glue in my hair (how did that happen?!) I am a happy person, so they give me plenty of time in my craft room (Oh, how I love them!).  Thanks for having me here.  I look forward to seeing everyone’s creations.  Happy Crafting!

Growing UP is Optional

Come meet our newest and youngest Design Team member......

Alanna Nelson

Heres some information about Alanna!

I'm 22, from Adelaide, SA and I have been scrapping for about a year now, and still class myself as a beginner. I love scouring manufacturer blogs (especially kaisercraft - my favourite!), and challenge sites for inspiration and to learn tips and techniques. I don't really have a "style" yet and am still exploring :) When I am stuck for inspiration I love looking through google images - sometimes it's amazing what you can find inspiration from!

Here's the link to my blog: http://scrapping-and-life.blogspot.com/

Thanks,
Alanna

Up up and Away

Hi Shazza,
 Here is my June's submission

Clouds......checked
balloons.....checked
3d embellishes'

I tried to make the clouds 3d, my balloons I also tried 3d.
I did the photo twice and raised the first off.

Karen's Williams submission.......

Blimp

Hi Shazza

here is my submission for Up- I hope a blimp counts as a balloon as that's what you've got!

I used some cloud paper and made a3D embellishment with a punched flower, some baker's twine and a button

this is the journalling and the explanation for the LO

There was much excitement last week when we saw the Goodyear blimp over our house and then over football training. Then on Sunday James went for a run and found it tethered at our local airfield so Stanley and Nancy went to see it and take some close up pictures. We guessed it was there ready for the big match on Sunday- Ajax were playing Twente in the last game of the season- the winner would win the league- we imagine it was waiting at Hilversum ready to go and fly over the stadium during the match.

Hope this is OK

Karen

Debi Clarks submission....

Friends

Hi Shazza,

What a fun LO this turned out to be for me, using the inspiration from
the movie poster titled 'Up'!
I felt that it warranted the use of a photo of my lovely grandson, with
a  statue of a lizard that he thought was just great, photo taken at
Dreamworld. I made the clouds from some speech bubbles &
had to add the sun too as this bright page needed it!
I have cut out a photo of a hot air balloon, that is in the shape of a
turtle with sneakers on...you can see the little basket under the
sneakers plus I have added a turtle felt embellishment.

Hope the players enjoy this one..cos I did!!

Cheers, Debi

Sandi Robinsons submission......

Riding High

As it's a Disney/Pixar movie I wanted to keep a cartoon feel & the photo I chose is one of Alex looking 'Up'!!!  We were on the London Eye, so it seemed doubly appropriate!!

I've managed to include all the criteria...Use clouds..check! Use a hot air balloon...check! Use 3D embellies...check!! Lots of pop dots & layered embellies in this one to give that 3D effect!!
Thanks for the ongoing creative inspiration Shazza!!

Blessings
Sandi :)

Jane Howden's submission.....

Up Above

Hi Shazza,

I very much enjoyed putting this layout together for the June “Up” movie poster inspiration.  I loved the actual movie and the wonderful sentiments it expressed.  I used new release paper from MME Lime Twist range for my background, it was just perfect for this challenge.  I’ve added additional raised clouds to the paper to give a 3D effect and my photograph is of hot air balloons.  I’ve also sewn directly onto my page in several places – I love this technique and seem to be using it more and more lately.  Thanks Natalie for the inspiration – I think I now need to go watch the movie again !!

Dale Tiernan's submission....

The Land

Hi Shazza,

Here is my layout for UP. I wanted to use the colours in the hot air balloon photo. The LYB background paper already had a cloud, which I was happy about and some yellow embossed strips creating movement but it had cutesy zoo animals across the bottom. I've covered these up using 4 different coloured patterned papers in wavy strips. I have the clouds, hot air balloons and the red and yellow hot air balloon is a raised hand-made embellishment. The perfect finishing touch.
Did you spot my Mickey Mouse balloon? We were at Epcot so got to have Mickey in their somewhere.
For more details see my blog www.daleys-dailies.blogspot.com.

Cheers,
Dale

Party Table Fun

G'day Shazza!

Here's my layout inspired by the movie poster "Up"!  I've gone double the fun this month, and I've been inspired by the bright coloured balloons and happy vibe.  I've covered all the criteria - 1. Used clouds (hand-cut big bluey-green ones out of cardstock); 2. Used balloons (drew and cut my own out of vintage paper and tied craft string to them and glued them in a "flowing manner" (inspired by the "flow" of balloons in the poster also); 3. and I've used 3D embellishments in my cute little mini buttons (9) on my layout (as well as the plastic craft string) :D

Thanks again for an awesomely fun challenge!

Cheers,

Chantal Vandenberg

Splended Sunshine

Hi Shazza!
I can't believe June is nearly here!  I loved the poster for June.... I wanted to make a happy, fun layout because I am so ready for summer!  My page is titled, "Splendid Sunshine".  I believe I have all the extra criteria included.  Thanks for another fun challenge!

My Happy Place

and

Dear Shazza,

I had the best time using this poster as my layout inspiration. Such bright and happy colours immediately made me want to scrap this recent photo of my daughter on a jumping castle. I had to add lots of fun embellishments including of course some clouds and hot-air balloons. My 3D embellishment is the heart in the bottom left corner, it's 3 layers deep and stands quite high. I'm not sure how I'll fit it in an album but it doesn't matter because this whole page just makes me smile :-) Can't wait to see how everyone else interprets this!

Michelle Beeby's submission....

Ticket To Ride

Hey Shazza, what a fun and wonderful challenge this month, here is my layout which is my youngest at youth week on the flying trapeze, he had a blast! The journaling actually reads: "Peter, you had a blast at this years Youth Week celebrations. They had a load of activities this year, the flying trapeze was your favourite!"

Now I have some clouds, the two borders both use cloud papers, and I have a hot air balloon - being a digi-girl getting things 3D or to pop off the page is easier said than done, but I hope you can see I did try to make my elements look more like 3D pop up stickers than just flat elements (really not sure if this counts?).

Thanks again for taking me outside my comfort zone and I look forward to seeing all the fab entries :)
