Last but not least.......

Shazza Bishop - Shiver Me Timbers

Pic is of my son Jarred at one of his school dress up days.

Everything is hand cut and pieced together. The rigging on the boat is made of embroidery thread glued together and then put through a cut icy pole stick, I made the holes using my crop-a-dile. there is a little seagull sitting on the rigging. The rigging took me 3 hours to make and a lot of cursing!!!

I drew the deck of the ship and shadowed and darkened some areas to give dimension.

The chest was handcut from CS and jewels and coin added. The parrot was pieced together with tiny bits of c/s.

Title cut from red c/s and edged in white to stand out, added a treasure map with a bit of journaling along the bottom. Skulls and shells on the island. The pirate ship and anchor are iron-ons.

Hope you like it!

WOW! Another fantastic submission to share, this time from ..... :)

Tracy - Mates through the School Years

Here is my layout for Pirate of the Carrabean at Worlds End.
I have used 1 Skull, if you don't include the ones on the pattern paper and 1 sword for the hands on the clock.
Used Kaiser Skull Boy pattern paper and my2angels mates ribbons (which I sprayed with glimmer mist)
It is a special layout showing my son and his friend on the first day of grade 1 and at their graduation night from grade 7.
Thanks Shazza for another great challenge -Tracy

Oh man!! you are so good with your colors, they just go together so well, great choice of photos throught the years, I love this page Tracy, Well done - Shazza

Look who's next.........

Michelle Beeby - Pete the Pirate

Shazza, as always, really enjoyed the challenge this month, and as soon as I saw the poster I knew exactly what photo's I wanted to scrap for Peter's album, these shots where from 2 years ago (2008) at the street party and I was a bit stuck as to how to scrap them, but then this came up and it all fitted in wonderfully! Thanks heaps for again taking me outside my zone... loving this me matey, argggg..... lol
Journaling reads: Your so funny, everyone else was being painted up as “Christmas Themed” characters, but not you, no you wanted to be a pirate! The maske just topped it off!

Ooh Michelle! As soon as I saw this I just loved it, gorgeous parrot and the skull and crossed swords just look so real, great colors. I bet Pete had a great time with his face painted as a pirate, did he make Santa walk the plank?? Great take - Shazza

and they keep on coming...........

Marisa Page - My Lad

Hi Shazza,
The poster this month was a very interesting one indeed.I went with the one big skull & cross bones theme and the black background.I am not one for doing male pages but thought that being a pirate theme it would suit this photo of my oldest son taken may years ago when he dressed up as pirate for dress up day at school. Thanks for the challenges Shazza and I am looking forward to seeing everyone's take of this poster.
Regards, Marisa Page

Hi Marisa! I just love that huge skull, simply fantastic, great boys page colors all blend well, great dress up day photo. Cheers Shazza

Our next submission comes from.....

Lisa Hanrahan - I Love You

Here's what Lisa had to say... I didn't have a lot in the way of pirate embellishments, but Idid have this skull paper from kaiser. As the movie poster had one large sull in the centre. I decided to use a close up photo of my daughter, in the centre of the layout.

Well Lisa, a fantastic layout, Beautiful pic of your daughter, all your colors blend so well. Thanks so much for sending me all your layouts to photograph, they will be back to you asap. Unfortunately this will be Lisa last submission as she has resigned her position, she has moved to a part of Queensland that does not have internet access, hopefully she will be back soon :) Will miss you Lisa - cheers Shazza

A bit of information about the Director of Alfie - Lewis Gilbert.

Lewis Gilbert

Lewis Gilbert
CBE (born 6 March 1920) is an English film director, producer and screenwriter, born in London. After a career as a child actor in films in the 1920s and 1930s, he began shooting documentary films for the Royal Air Force during World War II. Gilbert made his name in the 1950s with a series of successful films as director, and often writer and producer as well. These were often based on true stories from World War II. Examples include Reach for the Sky (1956) (based on the life of air ace Douglas Bader), Carve Her Name with Pride (1958) (the story of SOE agent Violette Szabo) and Sink the Bismarck! (1960).

and

In 1966 Gilbert directed Alfie starring Michael Caine. Gilbert said the film was only made because the low budget was "the sort of money Paramount executives normally spend on cigar bills".[cite this quote] The film was nominated for five Academy Awards including best picture. Gilbert was nominated for a Golden Globe for best director, and the film was remade in 2004 with Jude Law.

In 1967, Gilbert was chosen to direct Lionel Bart's musical of Oliver! but had to pull out and Carol Reed took over.

Despite being known for character dramas, Gilbert directed three of the most epic and expansive installments of the James Bond series. After some reluctance, he was persuaded by Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli to direct You Only Live Twice in 1967. Gilbert returned to the series to make two more films, The Spy Who Loved Me in 1977 and Moonraker in 1979.

In the 1980s he returned to more small-scale dramas with successful film versions of Willy Russell's plays Educating Rita (1983) and Shirley Valentine (1989).

Lewis Gilbert was awarded the Fellowship of the British Film Institute in 2001.

Here is another entry from a 'Newbie'...........

Dinnae Galloway - Superstar

Here is what Dinnae had to say.......Okay, here it is, finally. My first submission to FS2S!!! I did this layout for my monthly scrap club Shaz, and I sketched it out back in NOVEMBER... so when I saw your criteria for this month, my eyes just about popped out of my head!!!! :) I LOVE using b&w photos!
Journalling reads:
My name is Dinnae & it's take me a long time to realise that I am a SUPERSTAR!
I am a wife & soul mate, a mum to 2 boys, a baby-wearing, breast-feeding, pro-natural birthing, pro-cloth nappy-ing, crafty home-maker mama.
I'm a sister, cousin, daughter, grand-daughter & value my ties to my family.
I'm a loyal & trustworthy friend, a business-minded woman, a giddy paper-crafter... but most importantly?
I'm a child of God:
CHOSEN,
HOLY
&
BELOVED.
16 January 2010

Wow!! Dinnae!!
Just love this layout, love your photos in the film strip, great idea and perfect for 'Screen to Scrap'concept. Mmmm..... so you are a purple girl :) Great photo of you Dinnae! I havn't forgotten your beautiful smile....

Shazza

We have an entry today from......

Brenda Wyllie - Mum

Hi Shazza,
Here is my entry for Screen 2 scrap. The poster really was a great inspiration for me. I have used Black and White photos of my mother and her twin sister. I have used white backing paper, white lace & white felt up the middle. Red Core paper as my main other colour. The black and red paper was covered with a die cut pattern paper (I think thats what its called) which I sprayed with white memories mist.
Brenda Wyllie

Wow! Brenda!
This layout looks fantastic, I love those 'oldie' pics, its nice to scrap this memory of you mum and twin sister as kids!! The red contrast looks great! Well done!! - Shazza

Another Fantabulous!! entry from...

Lisa Kamphuis - Right Where I Want To Be

Hi Shazza
Happy New Year!
Here s my screen to scrap layout - obviously I chose teal with my black and white!!
My inspiration from the movie came from the setup where the title is set to the left of the poster - I set my photo to the left also.....and of course used a black and white photo. Thanks for another great movie this month
Take care
love Lisa K

Thanks Lisa,
You did an excellent job on the challenge and love the Teal blue. Love the bird, heart and tied up scroll but best of all I love the title. I might have to borrow that title one day :) .... Great work!! - Shazza
