Here is Sandi's take on the 'Holiday Inn' movie poster this month.....

Graduand to Graduate

My Hubby graduated on 11th July & during the ceremony I kept thinking that the Dean was pronouncing the word 'Graduate' incorrectly...but when everyone did the same, I realised they were actually using a word I wasn't familiar with!!  So I googled it & discovered it was 'Graduand'...referring to the status of a graduate student who has completed his studies but not yet graduated in a formal ceremony'...see, you learn something new every day!!!! It seemed like a moment to document!!

As for the criteria...I loved the whole navy & red inspiration so printed my photo in B&W with a navy tint, matted it on red & used navy CS as my background! I cut two sets of the words 'Graguand' & 'Graduate' on my sillhouette in red & navy cardstock, sliced each in two, & paired them up again with their opposites to create a two-tone title! Lastly I used map PP to create the pleating around the journalling block & to cover the chipboard triangle for the bunting. The title was inspired by the map paper too...

Thanks for another fab challenge & I can't wait to see what everyone is going to do with this one!!!

Blessings

  1. Oh My Shazza!! I am blushing furiously at my 'blonde' moment!!! When I jotted down the criteria for reference waaay back...I inadvertantly wrote 'map' PP instead of 'music'PP...you'd have thought I'd notice something so obviously a mistake, wouldn't you?!! It wasn't until I checked in here to see everyone else's fab submissions that I realised...so only two out of three for me on the criteria!! Oooops!!
