I hear Amanda is playing 'Alice' in the new Tim Burton's take on the classic children's book Alice in Wonderland. The director is in the process of putting together an expensive, 3-D version of Lewis Carroll's famous novel. She gets to star (!) next to Johnny Depp who plays the Mad Hatter. Now thats ironical in itself as Amanda runs her own little group of Mad Hatters.......read onto get the latest news about Amanda.........
I am a SAHM to my darling little boy Cody, who just turned 2. I feel very fortunate to be able to stay home and care for him even though some days I think it would be far easier to have a full time job! I have been married to my husband, Derek for nearly 6 ½ years and even though sometimes he can really test the friendship I honestly can’t imagine my life without him. I live to create and it is the next most important thing in my life, it completes me as a person and without it I would be lost. I have tried everything from knitting, crochet, stitching, paper tole and quilting but found my true passion in scrapbooking about a year and a half ago. During this time I have been lucky enough to work on a few design teams but most recently have moved into teaching and inspiring others. I teach classes and design kits & sketches for my local scrap shop and I also run my own challenge blog called Out of the Hat.
My scrapbooking style at the moment is all about Shabby Chic and Vintage. My layouts are very dimensional and embellished and they just don’t feel truly complete until they are about an inch thick! Hehehe It has been my love of this style that has led me into my newest venture …. opening my own online store called D-lish Scraps. D-lish specializes in beautiful embellishment for your scrapbooking. It embraces the Shabby Chic style by offering a range of gorgeous 3D flowers, trims, doilies, mesh and leaves at a very affordable price. Most packs are under the $2 mark with starting prices as little as 65 cents! We offer a lot rate shipping fee of only $3 to anywhere in Australia to keep that affordable too.
I also keep a personal blog at My Lil Patch of the Planet, so if you are interested in seeing some more of my work or just to have a sticky then feel free to pop on over.
My fave movie of all time would have to be Pretty Woman ….. I love a good fairytale and it just goes to show that there is something out there for everyone.
The last movie I saw at the cinema would have been Harry Potter 3!! I know, I know, I lead a tragic existence but if you are reading this at about lunch time on Saturday then I will be feet up in the Gold Class cinemas seeing Harry Potter 6! (Does that make it 4yrs since I’ve been to the movies?? …. eep!!) I am sure there is a lot of yummy (and overpriced) food in Gold Class but a movie just wouldn’t be the same without popcorn and frozen coke now would it!! I haven’t hired a movie in donkeys … or is that since I have been banned from every video store in a 10 mile radius?? I was always very good at getting them but not so good at returning them … apparently they don’t like that!! We have Foxtel and Box Office movies at home so some times I can watch a few of those, the last being “Because I Said So” with Mandy Moore and “27 Dresses” both great chic flicks and highly recommended!!
I was so honored at being asked to Guest DT here by Shazza and had so much fun creating my layout. I really hope you can all find the time to join in as a truly believe that Screen 2 Scrap is a fantastic concept!
