Hi Melinda, glad you could join in this month. What a
gorgeous photo of Alexis holding her Dorothy. You

gorgeous Well done!! - Shazza
Yes!! its another newbie with a fantastic entry.........
Hello,
I am new here at From Screen to Scraps! I started visiting when I saw the Alice in Wonderland poster last month but wasn’t able to participate. I loved the movie, Sherlock Holmes, so I really wanted to try this challenge. I used the blocks in the movie poster as a start off point and made teal and grey blocks from cardstock. I inked the edges in more teal and grey with Distress Inks. The title is in two separate blocks. I used lots of metal embellishments from Tim Holtz and some jewelry charms I had in my stash. This was so much fun that I will make sure to be back each month for a new challenge!
Thank you, Celina Matthews
Hi Celina, Thankyou for joining in this months challenge, and what a great take on the poster inspiration. I love the photo of your husband and son reunited after your husbands second tour in Iraq (see I've already had a sneak peek of your blog!) You have done a fab job of the criteria, a great result :) and we wouls love to see you back again next month too. Cheers Shazza
We havean entry from another newbie.......
Hi Vicky, Glad you joined in this month, you did areaaly great job of the movie poster with your take. Setting it up in blocks just like the poster and doing your title in a block. Its looks like a collage, I bet your happy with the way it turned out! You have covered all the criteria too, excellent! Job well done!! - Shazza

Sherrie
Hi Sherrie, Thanks for joining in this month, and what a fab layout :) I love the photo you used, it brings back memories of when my two boys were little and rode around on their plastic motor bikes. Love your metal accents, and the little motor bike jacket and accessories look so cute! Well done - Shazza
Look at this everyone....another great page from a newbie!!
HI Shazza, Im a newbie Natallie KING and decided to give this months criteria a go. I have used a metal frame around the photo, the colour teal and a block title. The title was from a printed saying on vellum and I machine sewed onto a piece of teal coloured ribbon. Thanks Natalie
Thanks for joining in this month Natalie, you've done a great job of the challenge! Covered all the criteria which is good. The pink colors against the teal looks fab! The rub-ons really stand out and love the circle accents you picked for this page. Well done!! - Shazza

Last week to get your entries in for the 'Sherlock Holmes challenge'
Tuesday, July 20, 2010
Yes!! its another newbie with a fantastic entry.........
"They both idolize their Papa, but a few times during the week their Mama piques their curiosity. It could be when she is making chocolate chip cookies, or trying to clean with all the fun tools... Their Mama will take the time when she gets it, knowing all too soon that they will begin to get stingy with their time, with their affection. I so much cherish the time with just me and my boys. I know it is not grammatically correct, but it just sounds funny to say My Boys and I...I took inspiration from the general layout of the poster as well as the colors. I also added some metal sticker embelllishments, my title is in a block and there is a touch of teal! I've been meaning to make a card based off the poster too, but alas, I ran out of time!
Thanks for the inspiration, I hope to participate again next month! - Karen
Well done Karen, what a fantastic entry for this months challenge. Love the photos you chose to showcase, it looks like you're all having a great time. You have done a great job by covering all the criteria. a great page, well done!! - Shazza

Here's a great layout from another newbie.....
Hi Shazza,
Here is my entry for the Sherlock Holmes challenge. I have
tried to meet all the criteria by using various shades of
teal, I have two metal embellishments (the flower and
dragonfly) but I put the photo in a rectangle instead of
the title. Hope that was OK.
I was inspired by the rectangles going down each side of
the poster and had a little experiment of cutting the PP
into windows to reveal the teal colour underneath!
Cheers!
Shelee :)
What a great entry Shelee, I bet your pleased with your
end result. I love the little windows that open up
revealing the teal color underneath. This page is very
eye catching and I love your black and white photo of
Holly. Well done! - Shazza

Sherlock Holmes according to a ......newbie!!
(aka Captain Nick Sparrow)
Hi Shazza!
I liked the blockiness of the movie poster so I arranged my pictures in an orderly manner. I've got some metal going on in the safety pins, I put half my title in a block, and I have tiny bits of green dots and green leaves in the layout but it's hard to tell from the photo.
I can't wait to see the movie! I love Robert Downey, Jr.!
This is a fun blog so I hope to join you again in coming months!
XOXO
nicole
Hey Nicole, Thanks for joining in this months challenge..........we would love to see you again in the up and coming months :) You've done a great job, the photos look fabulous. I love the photo of the mirrored image, its so precious :) Great idea to use metal safety pins! Looks like you have covered all the criteria. Well done!! - Shazza
